Where to stay in Da Lat

Pick the right area and 80% of your trip plans itself — Vietnam's highland escape rewards location more than star ratings.

The four main areas

1. Around the market & Xuan Huong Lake — first-timers

Walk to the night market, the lake and the best-known cafés. Lively but noisy on weekends, and prices run 15–25% higher. Typical range: 450k VND (3-star) to 1.5M VND (4-star) per night.

2. Tran Hung Dao – Hung Vuong — French villa hills

A ridge of 1930s colonial villas among pines, 5–7 minutes by car from the center. Ideal for couples and families who want "old Da Lat" atmosphere and quiet nights.

3. Toward Tuyen Lam Lake — pine-view homestays

The postcard zone: wake up to mist rolling over pine forests. You'll want a scooter or car. This is where Da Lat's famous "cloud hunting" photos come from.

4. Trai Mat & the outskirts — long stays

Total calm and excellent monthly rates (4–8M VND for a good room). Popular with remote workers — see our Long stay section.

OVIVU tip: in flower season (Nov–Dec) and public holidays, central prices spike — book 2–3 weeks ahead and favor free-cancellation rates.
